Inexs Software Tools and Technologies
Human-powered geoscience requires that our staff of geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, engineers, and management have the right tools for the job. INEXS maintains that an integrated approach to analysis of client data and projects is the best way to deliver value for our clients. This approach permits the varied disciplines and long experience of our staff to enhance all phases of a project by sharing information, techniques, and experience.
In support of that effort INEXS keeps current on mainline technologies for geological and geophysical interpretation through use of IHS Kingdom (SMT) and Petra as well as SeisWare for specialty attribute extraction and analysis. Further along the attribute analysis path, INEXS also uses Paradise from Geophysical Insights. Paradise allows INEXS to employ multi-attribute analysis and ‘ground truth’ that analysis by calibrating to existing production results.
Our engineering staff are equipped with integrated economics and decline curve software from TRC Consultants (PHDWin), and IHS Harmony (Fekete). These packages allow our engineers to develop rigorous Type Curves and perform accurate, detailed reserve analysis in addition to risk assessment. Our engineers work closely with the G&G staff to ensure that the concerns and interests of all disciplines are addressed and included in the final result.
INEXS uses Rock Flow Dynamics’ tNavigator software for reservoir simulation. tNavigator allows our geoscience and engineering teams to collaborate in developing geologic and dynamic reservoir models. INEXS chose tNavigator as our reservoir simulation standard for its ability to quickly develop geologic models and easily translate them into dynamic models. Once in the dynamic model the user has complete control over the simulation with the ability to stop, start, and change reservoir parameters at any point during simulation. This ability permits INEXS staff to perform various “what if” scenarios. tNavigator was designed from the ground up to maximize use of today’s multi-threaded desktop computers and delivers that power to INEXS.
